About JASON O. JIA
Mr. Jia focuses his practice on both commercial litigation and employment-based immigration. Jason has experience serving clients across a wide range of industries which includes engineering, manufacturing, entertainment, as well as representing startups, entrepreneurs, scientists, and researchers in the scientific communities. He has also represented clients in non-immigrant visa categories including students, professionals, managers and executives, artists and entertainers, treaty investors, and individuals of extraordinary ability.
Mr. Jia employment-based immigration practice concentrates primarily on EB-5 Immigrant Investor visas. He has prepared and filed numerous I-526 and I-829 petitions for immigrant investors, both through direct investment as well as regional centers. Mr. Jia works closely with major developers across the country on regional center investment opportunities. Additionally, he regularly works with foreign investors on a one-on-one basis to identify potential direct investment opportunities for immigrant visas petitions including corporate franchise opportunities.
Additionally, Mr. Jia offers comprehensive and practical legal solutions to corporate clients with regard to issues such as contract dispute, shareholder dispute, commercial lease review, business entity and fund formation, cross-border real estate investment, trademark registration, commercial arbitration and litigation, and employment litigation.
Mr. Jia has earned his Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School and graduated with Honors from University of California San Diego with a Bachelor of Science in Management Science. During law school, Jason worked at the King’s County District Attorney’s office and prosecuted misdemeanor cases under the supervision of Bureau Chief Mr. Cotto. He also served as a student attorney at the renowned Safe Harbor Clinic and achieved favorable decision for his client from Côte d’Ivoire. Mr. Jia is a member of the New York City Bar Association, American Immigration Lawyers Associates, New York County Bar Association, and Asian American Bar Association of New York. He is admitted in the State of New York and New Jersey. Mr. Jia also serves as legal counsel and of counsel to a number of non-profit organizations and law firms in New York and New Jersey.
